SIR,
By inserting the following question on the comparative
scales of intending maps of Westmorland, and an answer from
some of your mathematical correspondents solving this most
difficult and perplexing question, will oblige,
The scale of Mr. Greenwood's map being given to find Mr.
Hodgson's.
Mr. G' is one inch to a mile; Mr. Hodgson's one-third
larger.
