Inscribed on top to George Head Head of Rickerby (a Carlisle Banker), died 12 December 1876 aged 81 years; his first wife Maria Woodrouffe Head (wall plaque inside church) d.1854 and his second wife Sarah Head d. 20 April 1876. Stands on the south ditch of the Roman Fort." |
