hearsay:- |
This was the home of Lanty Slee bought with the profit from his illicit whisky. He
had stills in various places on the fells and disused quarries round Little Langdale
where he made whisky from potatoes, ten shillings a gallon. The magistrates who convicted
him of illegal brewing were his customers as well. |
