"Church. 1878 by J Howison of Edinburgh, on medieval site. Rusticated red sandstone ashlar on chamfered plinth; graduated green slate roof, coped gables with cross finials and kneelers. 4-bay nave, 3-bay chancel. West bellcote, south porch and north vestry. Windows and entrance are in shafted neo-Norman style with zigzag arches. West wall has clock with inscription dated 1868 and bells above dated 1772. Interior has open timber roof and early C20 fitments. Chancel has neo-Norman zigzag arch. East window of stained glass by Lavers &Westlake. Coloured prints on walls by the Fitzroy Picture Society. Wooden muniment chest and small carved graveslab of C12 inscribed Hisabella."

The earliest record of rector of the parish was Adam, about 1293. The present church, design by J Howison, Edinburgh, was built 1878. The old church was a little to the south.
