"Railway viaduct. 1875 by J.S. Crossley, engineer for the Settle-Carlisle line of the Midland Railway. Rock-faced red sandstone masonry with brick soffits to the arches. Seven arches of 45' span on tall battered piers with imposts and continuous band at track level. Solid parapets. In unaltered condition and very attractively sited. This lies partly in Wetheral C.P."
