being so.
He inclines to read the Word effac'd in the second Line
Augusti for Domini, but observes Instances may
be given of both. He has, besides this ingenious Remark,
that tho' the Cohort here mention'd was the
Secunda Tungrorum, yet it might be the Prima
of the Ala to which it appertain'd, and then there
will be no Reason to suppose that there were two milliary
Cohorts belonging to it.
The Name of the Prefect is read Claudius
(perhaps justly) for the S is least of all to be
distinguish'd from the CC in its small Remains.
