I. imperatore domino nostro Gordiano Augusto tertio Pompeiano Consulibus. Thus he reads tertio referring to Gordian the Third, and not the Times of his Consulship with Pompeianus; and tho' he judiciously observes that it was not usual to distinguish their Emperors by I. II. III. &c. yet having no Instances of three of the same Name so closely suc-
