The map, first published 1833, has added railways suggesting a date about the 1850s? The Lancaster and Carlisle Railway and Kendal and Windermere Railway are shown; so are parts of the Eden Valley Railway, South Durham and Lancashire Union Railway, and Settle and Carlisle Railway, but not as they were built, and labelled in one place 'Northern Counties Union Ry.'.
