The treble is inscribed:-
"[William Pennington Baronet 1729. William Dacket faccit Whitehaven]"
This stopped ringing in 1965 and was repaired by having a new clapper made from an old cannon ball.
The Mary Bell was replaced in 2002-03 by a bell commemorating the Golden Jubilee of Elizabeth II. It was cast by John Taylor's Bellfounders, Loughborough. It is inscribed:-
[Holy Mary Pray for Us / Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee 2002]
and was hung in time for the Rev M Stonestreet to use it for the first time at his last service in this parish.
