Nev pointed out a bench mark; a cut bench mark, horizontal mark with the goverment broad arrow below. This bench mark is not in the current list of OS bench marks which can be accessed online, nor have I found it on the 1890s County Series maps that I have available. But: there were more bench marks than are shown on any particular set of maps.
