Part of the hall was built by Thomas and Ann Tolson, 1638. There are stained glass
windows inscribed:-
|
|
"[God by this means hath sent what I on this house have spent T.T. All prayers be unto
him (sic) name that gave me meanes to build the same 1638.]"
|
|
"[God by this meanes hath 16 sent 38 what I on this house have spent.]"
|
|
and there is a sketch of a roll of tobacco leaves, a cable of thick twist tobacco,
and three clay pipes.
