notes:- |
Raisley Calvert, in 1794, aged 21, fell ill and was nursed in this inn by William
Wordsworth, who was only three years older. Raisley died January 1795, and was buried
at Greystoke on the 12th. In his will he left L900 to William Wordsworth, which enabled
him to follow his poetic bent. |
