On our visit to this box it was a bleak rain swept day, the low cloud covering the
tops of the mountains. Rain lashed the windscreen surface spray threatening to cause
an aqua-plane the forbidding blackness of the heavy nimbus cloud only a few hundred
feet above seemed to be belching directly from the power station, the smoke from its
chimneys reaching into the cloud with consummate ease. |

The post box is in the wall of the old Post Office and Cumberland Sausage Shop, which
was established in the early 19th Century. The proprietor Richard Woodall has a shop
full of Cumberland sausages and other delights. |
