If you first go down to the river bank from the post and then go 5m right, upstream,
you will find a moss covered bed of sandstone. |

| Under the moss there is said to be current bedding and graded bedding which are indicators
that the sandstone was laid down in a river delta, suggesting that the coastline in
carboniferous times was nearby. These bedding forms are not visible. |
