Cringlemire was built in the 1890s for Henry Martin; architect Dan Gibson. 1 mile
west of Langdale Chase. The gardens were consciously designed as an arboricultural
museum by Thomas H Mawson, Robert Mawson and Dan Gibson, and were sheltered by conifers;
Mr Martin was a noted plant collector.
