John Wesley first preached in Kendal in a 'convenient room', 9 April 1753. A methodist
society was formed a little later, and met in the Old Play House, Market Place. They
then used The Fold, Stricklandgate, and moved to this site 1808. The prsent building
was opened 29 March 1883. |
