notes:- |
Langdale Chase was designed by Joseph Pattinson, built by Grissenthwaite of Penrith,
finished 1894, for widowed Edna Hogarth. The new house replaced Low Wood Lodge, which
became the gardener's house. A boat house was included; the house was the first to
have electric light in the area. Thomas H Mawson designed the landscaping and gardens. |
