"Buccleuch dock is entered from Ramsden dock (Lat. 54~ 06' N., Long. 3~ 13' W.), through a passage which is 100 feet (30m5) wide with depths of 28 1/4 feet (7m2) over the sill; this passage is crossed by a swing bridge. The dock has an area of 31 acres, with depths at the berths from 17 1/2 to 30 feet (5m3 to 9m1), there being depths of 30 feet (9m1) alongside Messrs.
