Doubtless in future times a railway will run to Keswick and Ambleside by way of Hardknott, and the ghosts of the Roman sentries will marvel as they pace outside the overthrown gates. But in our day it is a place of peace, a spot to wonder over and to think upon, a piece of Forgotten History.
