Harbours and Ports

Ship Havens
Ships need somewhere safe to moor and unload.
Cumberland has a sea coast; to the Irish Sea. Shipping
along the coast, to the Isle of Man, Scotland and Ireland,
and to anywhere in the world might have begun in Cumberland.
There are a number of harbours on the coast of Cumbria; less
busy than they once were. Whitehaven was once one of the
busiest harbours in the British Isles.
