The itineraries use standard symbols for turns etc, describe
routes by what the driver sees, the text supplemented by
photographs at junctions marked with an arrow for the route
to take; each route is also described in reverse.
The routes that cross Westmorland, Cumberland etc are:-
Route 37 - Preston to Glasgow, and its reverse.
Route 37a - Penrith to Carlisle alternative route, and its
reverse.
Route 39 - Doncaster to Glasgow, through Skipton, and its
reverse.
Route 40 - Doncaster to Glasgow, through Hawes, and its
reverse.
Route 41 - Doncaster to Glasgow, through Appleby, and its
reverse.
Route 42 - Kendal to Carlisle, through The Lakes, and its
reverse.
Route 43 - Doncaster to Glasgow, through Alston, and its
reverse.
