Antonine Itineraries

Road map, the Antonine Itineraries, Itinerarium Provinciarum Antonini Augusti, 255 routes in the Roman Empire, perhaps 3rd century.
One theory has it that emperor Caracalla is the Antoninus of the title, and that the long route from Rome to Egypt was a plan for his progress to the east 214-215; but the itineraries are not all of one date.
The itineraries that concern Cumbria are:-
Iter II - from Blato Bulgio through Castra Exploratorum, Luguvallo, Voreda, Brovonacis, Verteris, Lavatris, etc / Birrens, Scotland through Cumberland, into Durham, etc.
Iter V - from Londinio, through Lavatris, Verteris, Brocavo, to Luguvallo / London to Carlisle.
Iter X - from Clanoventa through Galava, Alone, Galacum, etc / Ravenglass, Cumberland through Westmorland, into Lancashire, etc.
