YEW TREE IN PATTERDALE CHURCH-YARD. This Yew Tree, picturesque in ruin, is said, formerly, to have shaded considerably more ground than it does at present, which is probable from its trunk being somewhat disproportioned to its branches; the church and the tree are about a quarter of a mile from the inn on the road to the lake. |
