Summertime; two young women stand talking in the street, one with a child in her arms and another at her side, a collie dog lying beside them. Other children play nearby and hens peck at the side of the road. A woman carrying a pail, her back towards the viewer, walks along the street towards the bridge beyond from where more distant figures approach.
