Painting, watercolour, West End of the Entrance Hall,
Naworth Castle, Brampton, Cumberland, by Matthew Ellis
Nutter, 1830s-40s.
Stone flagged hall empty except for three suits of armour
standing at the far end and three small figures standing
beneath a round headed arch to right of composition. To
left, a doorway with two windows above it. Elaborately
carved and painted ceiling.
Before the fire of 1844.
