Painting, oil painting, Gilnockie Tower, Hollows,
Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, by William James Blacklock,
1843.
To left of foreground stand two tall pine trees beneath
which is seated a man, his back to the viewer, wearing
traditional Scottish dress. Beyond a small whitewashed
cottage stands Gilnockie Tower beside a field in which a
shepherd tends his sheep. Beyond rises a wooded hillside and
barren moorland.
