Print, woodcut, Robert Burns, by Joseph W Simpson,
London, 1901.
In this monochromatic woodcut print we are shown a three
quarter length depiction of Robert Burns, with his gaze
directed towards the viewer. He wears a ruffled shirt and
frock coat. Robert Burns was an eighteenth century Scottish
poet, and is regarded as a pioneer of the Romantic movement.
He is now widely thought of as Scotland's favourite poet.
