Album, second of two volumes of photographs, Examples of Early Domestic and Military Architecture in Westmorland, Kendal and Lonsdale Wards, by Herbert Bell, photographer, Ambleside, Westmorland, 1910.
A contents list gives a caption, the ecclesiastical parish and date of each photograph. In volume II the photographs are dated in the 1890s and 1900s.
The photographs are recorded separately. Remember that the caption gives the ecclesiastical parish, not the current civil parish, and that the letter after is K for Kendal Ward or L for Lonsdale Ward.
Several photos are out of numerical order, though the contents shows they belong in the numerical sequence - 109 is between 111 and 112; and later the sequence is 156, 161 to 164, 157 to 160, 165 etc. The Armitt subnumbering reflects the 'wrong' order in first instance, the 'right' order in the second.
