Guide book, A Description of Scenery in the Lake District, by William Ford, published by Charles Thurnam, Carlisle, Cumberland, and by C Tilt, 86 Fleet Street, and R Groombridge, Panyer Alley, London, 2nd edn 1840.
The book includes itineraries, and tables:- length, breadth and depth of lakes; elevations of mountains; heights of waterfalls; mail and coach routes; and the post route from Carlisle to London. There is a plate tipped in after p.182 - A Table of Distances and Itinerary of the Chief Excursions. The 3 plates of views and lake maps are recorded separately; the Lakes map is missing.
