Road book, road strip maps and descriptive text, Itinerary of the Great North Road, published by Mawson, Swan, and Morgan, Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland, late 1890s.
Strip maps relevant ot Westmorland, Cumberland etc, are recorded separately. Note that the maps present a strip of road roughly vertically on the page, but labels are printed to suggest their compass orientation.
A general map showing all the routes is missing from the pocket in the front of the book.
One of the advertisments at the back is for Mawson, Swan, and Morgan, printers, etc.
