Guide book, A Concise Description of the English Lakes, by Jonathan Otley, 1823, published by Jonathan Otley, Keswick, Cumberland, by John Richardson, Royal Exchange, London, and by Arthur Foster, Kirkby Lonsdale, Westmorland, 3rd edn 1827.
The book is bound in board covered with printed paper. It has:- frontispiece map, half title page, title page, preface, contents list; pp.7-150 descriptive text including itineraries, notes on geology, meteorology, floating island in Derwent Water, and the black lead mine at Seathwaite, and a new appendix, an account of an excursion to Skiddaw.
Note that the prefatory matter is pp.i to vi, and text pages start at 7 rather than 1.
