2nd edn 1825.
The book is half bound, with marbled papers. It has:- p.i title page, p.iii preface, pp.v-vi contents list; pp.7-65 descriptive text of lakes, tarns, rivers, mountains, crags, and antiquities; pp.66-67 tables of bearings of mountains from mountains; pp.68-104 general directions for the tourist, stages, tabulated itineraries, and descriptions; pp.105-141 notes on geology, meteorology, floating island in Derwent Water, and the black lead mine at Seathwaite. Note that the prefatory matter is pp.1 to vi, and text pages start at 7 rather than 1. |
