"Church. Probably medieval, with heavy restoration. 1840 and 1874. Stone rubble with ashlar dressings and slate roof. Single vessel nave and chancel west tower and north vestry. Coped gables with crosses. South elevation of 5 bays; 2-bay nave has paired lancets; gabled buttress between nave and chancel, which has 2-light flat-faced mullioned window and 2 small lancets, wall incorporates head of straight-headed light, part of arch, and part of medieval grave slab. East end has stepped triple lancets with rose window over; clasping buttresses. North elevation has single lancet and 2 pairs of lancets, 2-bay vestry has 2 gables, that to east smaller, lancets and east entrance. Entrance to nave in projection under pentice, single order arch. Tower has paired lancets to west single lancets to north and south, south stair turret under hipped roof. 2-light louvred tracery bell openings, broach spire with lucarnes. Interior: deep arch-braced collar roof, tower arch and vaulting; wall mounted gas lamps and hanging oil lamps. Medieval chancel arch raised 1874. Richly carved pulpit and stalls. Arch to vestry space. East window has stained glass, 1875, Morris and Co; some earlier fragments to south window. Medieval graveslabs and wall memorial, Thomas Curwen (died 1653, 2 figures, arms, in dog-tooth border; pillar piscina."

The church dates back to about 1220, and altered since. The tower was added in 1840; a vestry added in 1866; major repairs, and a spire, in 1874 etc.
