Old Cumbria Gazetteer

	The Old Cumbria Gazetteer includes Place Records of locations in the old counties of Westmorland, Cumberland, Lancashire north of the sands, and Yorkshire that are now in one county, Cumbria, including the Lake District, and of other places relevant to any guide book, map or print, that has been studied in the Lakes Guides project. Records are illustrated with extracts from old maps, old prints, paintings and photographs, and modern photographs.
	The gazetteer will open at:-
	Placenames A-Z index; all places and routes, including different spellings and alternative names.
	Other indexes available here are:-
	Parishes menu; leading to indexes of placenames within civil parishes.
	10Km squares menu; leading to indexes of placenames within a national grid area.
	More indexing of gazetteer pages and individual photos based on the type of place and the subject of photos can be found through the indexes for Topics and Photo albums, from the Main Menu. Prints and Maps have their own indexes.
	The Old Cumbria Gazetteer is not complete; no gazetteer ever will be. REMEMBER:- Absence of Evidence is not Evidence of Absence.
