We see red squirrels often, but they usually feed on the bird table at Middle Sadgill. |

Greater spotted woodpeckers are a regular feeder. Summer 2005 we had a male and female,
then later a young as well. We can never remember the exact markings for each; but
the bird book is always handy to check. |

Long tail tits flock through every year, and we see them climbing over each other
on the bird feeders. In 2008 we had a nest in a shrub in the lower garden, which had
a successful brood, whose beaks could be seen poking out the clever nest. But, later
all was gone; we suspect a magpie ... |

The rabbit trap has been set in the garden most of the summer, near a rabbit run which
was filled in after evicting the rabbits. Without any bait this trap has caught 6
rabbits, so far. And one polecat. |
