| A Stevenson Screen allows circulation of the air while shading instruments, particularly
thermometers, from direct sunshine. Fully equiped it would house - a thermograph,
recording temperatures; a hygrograph, recording humidity; wet and dry bulb thermometers,
also called a psychrometer; maximum and minimum thermometer; and perhaps a barograph,
recording pressure. Nearby there would have been a rain gauge, and an anemometer for
wind speed. |
