            Built as a bobbin mill by Robert Seed, mid 19th century, listed in directories from
                  1849-94; succeeded by son Thomas, then Thomas's sisters; then William Shepherd, who
                  also made tool hafts; then Tubss, Hiscox and Co, London; later Mr Grundy. It had a
                  large mill dam, and a large water wheel which was replaced by a turbine. |
