The quarry was opened by the Craven Lime Company, 1873; possible later known as Craven
Limes. The limekiln was a Hoffmann kiln, with a 200 foot chimney. The limekiln, at
NY82376635, is dated 1873 and is said to have been restored; it can be seen from the
train in passing. |
