"Rail overbridge. 1860-1 by Sir Thomas Bouch for the South Lancashire and Durham Union Railway. Coursed squared puddingstone (limestone) with sandstone dressings. Five elliptical arches. Large abutment piers with quoins and projecting capping. The arch piers have imposts, the arches have well-cut voussoirs. Continuous cornice, dressed parapet. A well-preserved example of a large road bridge on this line."
