hearsay:-
The site was part of the jointure of Catherine Parr. When there was first a building is not known. It is said to have been the occasional residence of Lady Anne Pembroke; the lock of the main door has her initials. Over the porch is a stone:-
"[NUNC MEA, MOX HUIUS, / SED POSTEA, NESCIO CUIUS.]"
Now mine, presently his, / After I know not whose.
This might have been brought from Brougham Castle.
