hearsay:- |
The site was part of the jointure of Catherine Parr. When there was first a building
is not known. It is said to have been the occasional residence of Lady Anne Pembroke;
the lock of the main door has her initials. Over the porch is a stone:- |
"[NUNC MEA, MOX HUIUS, / SED POSTEA, NESCIO CUIUS.]" |
Now mine, presently his, / After I know not whose. |
This might have been brought from Brougham Castle. |
