notes:- |
This chapel took over from one at Ullermire, in 1901. The land was given by William
Moffat, a gentleman's outfitter who called himself 'Sarlk MP' - a sark is a shirt,
MP is Methodist Preacher. The chapel was closed 1979. |
|
With Home Office permission the remains of William Moffat were disinterred, after
midnight, carried through the village by the methodist minister, vicar, undertaker
and local policeman, and buried in St Mary's churchyard. |
