| We came across this Ludlow box, no longer in use, whilst on route to another box.
It is the only one we have seen in the South Lakes. This type of box was made especially
for Post Offices. This example is set in the Old Post Office window; a hand written
and fading note tells you to use the new box located elsewhere in the village - an
EiiR Lamp Box No.ULV56. This box was still in use 5 years ago. |
