"Parish Church. 1777 with 1910 restoration. Rendered walls under graduated greenslate roof with coped gables and cross finial. 5-bay nave/chancel with rectangular west tower and south porch. Porch has louvred doors in pilastered surround under open pediment. Nave/chancel has keyed round-arched windows and Venetian east window. Interior has open timber roof and altar panelling of 1910. Creed and pater boards on west wall. White marble plaque to Reverend Thomas Edmondson, 1797, by Webster of Kendal. Royal Arms of George III."

"A FEW FRIENDS HAVE UNITED TO RAISE THIS STONE IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE UNDERNAMED WHO IN THEIR GENERATION WERE NOTED VETERANS OF THE CHASE AND MOST OF WHOM LIE BURIED IN THIS CHURCH-YARD" Round the base:-
"The Forest Music is to hear the Hounds / Bend the thin Air, and with a lusty cry / Awake the drowsy echo, and confound / Their perfect language in a mingled voice. / GAX" It seems to have been made about 1902?
