hearsay:-
James Dawson, garage owner and bicycle mechanic, caught the largest salmon ever in The Lakes, 26lb, from the River Duddon, 1936. He laid it on a concrete slab in front of his house near the bridge and marked its outline with a 6 inch nail and a hammer, besides posing for photographs.
