It is said that the Ordnance Survey misheard the local name of this place, Cofe Hook
End and recorded it as Cove o'Kend. This sort of mistake is not an uncommon occurence,
particularly in Scotland where Gaelic placenames have been horribly mangled by southron
surveyors. |
