The char-fishing is a very profitable branch of trade to the
proprietors of the lake. The whole area of it is divided
into five districts. An invisible line crosses the surface
from crag to crag - a limit, which the fisherman correctly
knows. But tho the space of each fishery is nearly equal,
yet the produce is otherwise; the fish running in shoals
sometimes in one part of the lake, and sometimes in
another.- When the farmer rents land, he can judge of his
bargain by the surface. When he rents water, he must take
his chance.
