Of the preceding votaries of the Muse, a great number have gone to "that bourne from whence no traveller returns," long before Campbell made his compilation - and Downman among the rest; - the ommission of whose name in Campbell's specimens I cannot account for. Surely his Lucius Junius Brutus is one of the finest Dramatic pieces of modern days. It is in Shakespeare's best manner.
