IF an ordinary observer of Nature may find his way into your 
respectable Magazine as well as the more minute enquirers  
into that subject, may I beg leave, through the medium of  
it, to publish a short description of what appears to me a  
most striking natural curiosity in the North of England? It  
is called by the country-people STANKTHRED BRIDGE, and is  
about half a mile West of the town of Kirby Stephen, in the
