Carnforth
Jan. 15. A shocking accident happened this evening at Carnforth, about 5 miles from Lancaster, As one of the stage coaches, generally termed the opposition coach, was proceeding to Kendal, the box on which the driver sat was by some means forced to one side rather suddenly; in consequence of which he fell to the ground, and the wheels instantly passing over his head occasioned his immediate death. He has left a widow and four small children. |
