they willingly agreed, and made the following demand and complaints, drawn up as hereafter.
The first touching our faith, to have the heresies of Luther, Wyclyff, Husse, Melancton, Ecolampadius, Busiris, the confession of Germane, the applege of Melanqton, the work of Tydal, of Bany's Fryth, of Marshall Rastal, the books of St Germane, and such other of any manner of heresie, without the realm, not to be kept, but utterly destroyed.
The second to haue the supreme of the chyrch toching cure of sowlle to be referryd to the see of Rome; as byfore iuyt whas accustomyd for to be; and to haue the consecration of Byshoppys frome hym without any first fruts, or penegors to him, to be paid out of this realme; or ellys a pencion reasonable for the outward defence of our fayth.
Also we beseke humble our most drade Soueraign Lord, that the Lady Mary may be legerymate, and esttatutes contrary to the same, be anulyd for the dome of the tytle that might incur to the crown by Scotland, and that to be by parliament.
Also to have the Abbeys that bee suppressed, to be restoryd to their lands, howsys, and goods.
Also to have the tenth and first fruts clearly dischargyd, onles the clergy wyll of their selfys grant a rent, or charge to the augomentation of the crown.
Also to have the Freres observans restoryd to their houses again.
Also to have the hereticks Byshoppys, and temporal men of their secte, to have condign ponysment by fire, or such other, or ells to trie ther quarrel with us and our partakers in battell.
Also to have the Lord Crumwell, the Lord Chancellor, and Sir Ryc. Rych, Knight to have condign ponysment, as subverters of the gud lawes of the realme; and onetemers of the slese sect of this false hertykes, first inventer and brengers of them.
Also that the landys in Westmorland, Cumberland, Kendale, Dentsyd, Furnes, and the Abbeis lands in Yorke, Worsaidyshire, Kerbyshire, Neurdale, mayne be tenant-right, and the lord to have at every change two yeeres rent, in the name of a agarsumme, and no more, according to a grant now made by the lords to the commens under their seales, and this to be done by act of parlement.
Also the hand-gunnys and crosse-bays, with the penaltie of the same, to be repelled, onles hyt be in the King's forests and parkes to kyllers of deere.
Also that Doctor Lee and Doctor Leyton may have condigne punishment for their extortions in time of visitation, in brybes, of so religyous houses, xl. xxl. and for other summes, besyde horsys, vowsens, under couent seallys, by them taken, and other abominable acts by them comitted and done.
Also to see reformation for the election of knights of shire, and the burgys, and for the vse among the lords in the parlement after the ancient custome.
Also the statute for inclosyng intackes to bee putt in execution, that all intacks, inclosys, syth anno quarto Henrici Septemi, be pullyd downe, exceding forests and parkys to be destrud of their quition, and tax now granted by parlament.
Also to have the parlyment in a convenient place, as Yorke or Nottingham, and the same to be so moued shortly.
